The Alert Management System allows for the checking of personel and document alerts. These alerts can be from locally (national) generated reports, and Interpol (international) alerts. These include document, Red Notice and Diffusion alerts.
The Alert system is automatically utlised when any application for a permit is made - no permit application decision can be made until the alert has been evaluated.
Throughout the process, the Primary Line Officer is kept informed of any possible alert and can escalate the movement to a superior officer for secondary inspection at any stage in the process.
In conjunction with the Immigration Policy Engine, Merit BMS rigorously reviews each movement for document authenticity, alert and watch list notifications, movement inconsistencies, and permit and visa holdings, along with all rules required by immigration departments ensuring passengers are thoroughly screened at the border.
